When is a teleconsultation useful?

For many reasons that do not require an immediate physical examination:

Infectious or allergic conjunctivitis

Dry or irritated eyes

Eyelids: stye, chalazion, blepharitis…

Optical prescription renewal — glasses and/or contact lenses (conditions apply)

Second opinion based on a previous medical report

Review of tests already performed (OCT, visual field)

Limits of teleconsultation

Some symptoms require a physical examination or urgent care. In these situations, teleconsultation is not appropriate.

See a doctor without delay — in person or at an eye-emergency unit — if you have:

a sudden drop in vision
intense eye pain
an eye injury (blow, splash, foreign body)
flashes of light, a shower of dark spots, or a curtain across your field of vision
redness with reduced vision in a contact-lens wearer

If in doubt, at the end of the teleconsultation Dr Gozlan can refer you to an appropriate in-person consultation.

Fee & reimbursement

€60 per teleconsultation

French health-insurance reimbursement base (Assurance Maladie) : 30 €

Fee supplement (dépassement d’honoraires) : 30 €

You are covered by French social security

A care sheet (feuille de soins) will be sent to you after the teleconsultation.

You are not covered by French social security

A detailed receipt will be sent to you after the teleconsultation.

How does a teleconsultation work?

I book an appointment

I choose a slot online and pay for the teleconsultation securely (card pre-authorization).

I receive my confirmation

As soon as I book, I receive confirmation of my appointment by SMS and email, with the link to my waiting room. No app to install.

I consult by video

At the appointment time, I connect from my phone or computer to consult Dr Julien Gozlan.

I receive my documents

After the consultation, I receive — where applicable — the prescription, the medical report, and the care sheet (feuille de soins) or the detailed receipt.
